I don’t know until now I haven’t even scratched this multi-platinum group that everyone seems to enjoy listening….I don’t even know why they are not present among the top100 acts of classic rock….I still can’t understand how I didn’t pick up on my brother Statler’s notions that peter green is maybe one of the most underrated yet incredible guitar player and infinite smash hits composer (Black Magic Woman, Albatross, The green manalishi; tunes that were covered with tremendous success by rock’s megatherions). Ok I get it; blame it all on Nicks…but no,that’s not the point at all!

Def Leppard: Music Suggestion Of The Day 21/06/2017

Last day’s suggestion really came up with today’s suggestion. Remembering Mutt Lange as one would say but this is not the case. Not until a dispute over the worth of rock subgenres like AOR made me furious about the fact that, without a doubt, some bands started out quite differently but ended up being the absolute trendsetters (or one of the biggest trendsetters) of their time. Today’s band fit that description.

They are well known for the 80’s megahits, or their one – arm drummer, but few considered their not-so-humble part in the great NWOBHM. Many disputed over the frenzy of guitar solos among groups like Raven or Tresspass but few doubted the capabilities of the Deaf Leopards that stormed English pubs during the last days of the 70’s an the first glorious years of the 80’s (who can forget the deminishing of a great song from 78's Getcha Rocks Off, to 80's weak Rocks Off).

SAXON: Music Suggestion Of The Day 20/06/2017

I don’t realy know why like Pirantello (wanting to write a story for each day of the year but never accomplished it), I haven’t, till today finished up a simple (as it sounded then) task, such as suggesting a 365 music suggestion post through Kokdi. As it turns out we’re apparently @ 260 (minus today’s) distinct and various suggestions expanding through mainly the Rock genre. So it is time to pick it up again (with the 1st suggestion - post of 2017!!!) remembering one of the classics that Kokdi always loved but failed to mention wherever a good conversation about the dynamics of NWoBHM were held.

PORNO: 20 years of (NOT) Choosing Life

Καλώς τονά…. Δεν ήθελα πρώτο (??) post του 2017 να είναι κάτι τόσο mainstream όσο και κάτι τόσο αποτυχημένο εισπρακτικά (κόστισε 18 μύρια, λέγεται ότι κερδίζει ως τώρα…1,2 μύρια… στην Ιταλία επί παραδείγματι), όσο και προφανώς όψιμα retro, μιλώντας τουλάχιστον για την γενιά μου, των 40 something δλδ. Αλλά δεδομένου ότι για να το δω σε μια ανθρώπινη ώρα (για τους κωλόγερους που διατείνονται νυχτοπούλια τούτο μοιάζει υποκριτικό έ?) έχασα το μεγαλύτερο παιχνίδι του CL (ελληνιστί Τσου Λου), έως κ σήμερα that is, πρέπει να σημειώσω πως τελικά δεν το μετάνιωσα καθόλου κ είδα κάτι που έμοιαζε υπερβολικά οικείο, ένα προσωπικό κλείσιμο του ματιού, για μια γενιά ηρώων που μιλούνε βλαχοσκωτσέζικα και θεοποιούν τον Κρόιφ, τον Ιγκυ, τον Σων Κόννερυ κ τον James Bond του, θέλουν να φύγουν, να πετύχουν κάπου άλλου, κάπου που να είναι πιο ανθρώπινα. Η τελευταία προφανής επιλογή τους ήταν αυτή που τους καταδίκαζε? η κατανάλωση η ίδια? ο ντεντερμινισμός των επιλογών και της ταξικής διαστρωμάτωσης? Χωρίς να μπορώ να το εντοπίσω, υπήρχε κάτι δυσοίωνο πριν 20 χρόνια που να εγγυούνταν την αποτυχία, την καταστροφή, ακόμα και αν είναι αυτό – καταστροφή….

Kultur Shock: Music Suggestion Of The Day 17/12/2016

It seems that we have completely forgotten our obligation to our followers (!!)And that is to provide with Fresh music suggestions, covering a full extend of a year; delivering thus a 365 suggestion list from which EVERY guy/girl with hearing capability can enjoy. From all kinds and genres of what is called Rock music, maybe giving a damn about other significant trendsetters in the music business (classical, swing, jazz, ethnic e.t.c.) We are currently stuck at 259 or so (I guess) music suggestions. Nevertheless this is not happening because we do not hear music; but it is getting all the more difficult to find the time to make a post significant; or at least plain good.

It’s been a long time indeed. But Απόστολος was quite able to pull it off leaving Kokdi’s music suggestions idle till today. But today our music suggestion is exactly rocking but swinging all the way, once we’re talking about one of the proudest ambassadors of Hot Jazz. Alongside the Italian violin-virtuoso Stephan Grappeli they’ve played all across Europe, becoming icons for generations of musicians to come.

Εντάξει η μπόρα πέρασε… Η παιδική μου αγάπη πρέπει να κάνει και λίγο πέρα για να δικαιώσω … τουλάχιστον τον εαυτό μου. Είχα τάξει στην αρχή της εβδομάδας μια περίεργη εβδομάδα, με ελληνικό στοιχείο, αλλά οι Mets είχαν άλλη άποψη κ μας ανάγκασαν να κάνουμε 2 Post για την πάρτη τους κ την επική τους νέα κυκλοφορία που μπορείτε να ακούσετε ΚΑΙ από εδώ, courtesy of our beloved family.

Τέρμα όμως τα δίφραγκα για να αρχίσει από τώρα να ισχύει ο νόμος της επαναληπτικότητας που δίνει, ή όχι, το στίγμα του κλασσικού σε κάθε νέα κυκλοφορία. Αρκετά με τα κολλήματα, ας περάσουμε κ στο προκείμενο. Αισίως έχουμε φτάσει (χωρίς την σημερινή) στις 258 ξεχωριστές μουσικές προτάσεις. Με την σημερινή πρόταση τιμούμε τον κατά την άποψη μου καλύτερο τραγουδιστή στη ρεμπέτικη μουσική.
