Today we’re back to our
favorites from the early NWoSDM… We’re following their paths right after the
debut’s (Sumerian Cry) release and the split between key figures of the band
called Treblinka, that soon would consist today’s band suggestion until 1997,
when it was fairly obvious that they would leave the sounds of the extreme for
good…
Μπορεί μερικές φορές να φαίνεται
αστείο, αλλά η «στήλη» αυτή του Σαββάτου, ένεκα Σαββάτου, σαν άλλη Εβραϊκή
γιορτή επέβαλε την extraχρήση
μουσικής, αφιερωμένης στο multi-cultikitsch(που είναι η «λαϊκή»
ελληνόφωνη μουσική, ή τουλάχιστον τα ήθη που την συνοδεύουν κ εκφράζονται δια
μέσου της), ξεκίνησε με την έννοια του σουρεαλισμού,
αποτείνοντας έναν ιδιόμορφο φόρο τιμής στον «μολώχ» του πολιτισμού που οι
Έλληνες επαίρονται πως έχουν. Κ μην μου πει κανείς ότι υπάρχει πιο mainstreamtrendαπό το kitschτου ελληνικού σκυλάδικου
σε οιανδήποτε χώρα του πολιτισμένου κόσμου, ή των Βαλκανίων, ή των χωρών της Ανατολής…
Forwhatisworth, που λένε κ στις πίστες, τούτη η έξη κάποια
στιγμή σταμάτησε. Γι’ αυτό και ενώ σε κάθε πρόβλημα που μας έθετε του Moriarty του κουτούκι (π.χ. η coka-colaπάει με όλα), υπήρχε και μια απολύτως σοβαρή, ή «σοβαροφανής», μουσική νότα….
(Source Wiki) Pentangle (or The Pentangle)[1]are a British folk - jazz band with an eclectic mix of Folk, jazz, blues and folk rock influences. The original band was active in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and
a later version has been active since the early 1980s. The original line-up,
which was unchanged throughout the band's first incarnation (1967–1973), was: Jacqui McShee, vocals; John Renbourn, vocals and guitar; Bert
Jansch, vocals and guitar; Danny Thompson, double bass; and Terry Cox, drums.
The name Pentangle
was chosen to represent the five members of the band, and is also the device on
Sir Gawain's shield in the Middle
English poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
which held a fascination for Renbourn.[2]
We have to admit though
after noticing that one of their most famous albums (Cruel Sister) has no
copyright restrictions (meaning that all songs are public
domain) that is group may as well be a)
enormously rich or b) unbelievably true to their art…. Your choice

So covering a time space
from 1968 to 1972 we present to you the Top 5 releases of
Ok I’ve already told you September is for me a kind of
a start within the year, or an alternative new year… every season opens; schools
are in session so are major sport leagues throughout most of our continent.
But
because it is not New Year, I tend to feel like pupils forced to school for one
more year… Nevertheless September that already is behind us marked by the
multiple new releases for many of our favorite groups… We select only 4 from
the many remarkable new and long awaited albums… and link them to the posts
that already been presented in this blog… I knοw that there are many more both interesting & notable releases (call me Motorhead) but one has the time to enjoy only as such...

Ok I know this should have been posted yesterday
butTom couldn’t… wait. Today we’er meddling with one not so typical musical,
way off Broadway, with no sense of corny and melodramatism, just the well –
known Von Trier’s misanthropic approach. Exploited and blind Bjork
portrays convincingly the typical Trier heroine, one step too far from the wife
that suffers (in Breaking The Waves), or later on the gangster’s daughter who
wanting redemption falls upon the preying “humble” little community (in
Dogville).
Ολοκληρώνουμε σήμερα το μίνι –
αφιέρωμα στον τιτανοτεράστιο Γιώργο Κωνσταντίνου, με μια σειρά
στην οποία μετατρέπεται ξανά σε onemanarmy και επιτέλους βάζει εαυτόν σε πρωταγωνιστικό
ρόλο, οικειοποιούμενος αυτό που ξέρει να κάνει (όπως αποδείχθηκε) καλύτερα… κ
όχι, όχι δεν εννοούμε να υποδύεται τον φωνακλά σύζυγο – δυνάστη… αυτή ήταν μια
πλευρά του επίκτητη, δημιουργημένη από το αξεπέραστο ηθογραφικό έπος του ακόμη
μεγαλύτερου Γεώργιου Τζαβέλλα. Το φόρτε του έλληνα κωμικού
είναι η ανακάλυψη και εμβάθυνση πάνω στον άνθρωπο – προφιτερόλ, τον άνθρωπο – τίποτα δηλαδή, που
επαίρεται περιστασιακά μόνο και μόνο για να διαπιστώσει πως οι όποιοι έπαινοι
πάνε στον πισινό του, πολύ απλά γιατί κανείς δεν ασχολείται μαζί του, τον άνθρωπο
που ενσαρκώνει το μικροαστικό τίποτα και το έχει κάνει πάντοτε δημιουργώντας
συμπάθεια στον χαρακτήρα, δίνοντας μεγαλύτερη ενάργεια απ’ αυτή που αποδίδουν
σε τέτοιους ρόλους άλλες μεγάλες κωμικές περσόνες, όπως ο Μουστάκας (Το ψώνιο).

Το τηλεοπτικό
δίδυμο Ρέππα - Παπαθανασίου στην καλύτερη
και πιο αυθεντική τους ταινία, που δυστυχώς δεν γνώρισε ανάλογη εμπορική
επιτυχία με το νευρωτικό Safesex, ακόμα και με όρους μιας ταινίας σαν «Το κλάμα» την μοναδική
ελληνική spoofταινία μετά τον Δράκουλα. Ό,τι
και αν πούμε είναι λίγο μια ελληνική κωμωδία που διαρκώς «γράφει» σε ατάκες,
δανείζεται από τον παμμέγιστο Γούντυ (HollywoodEnding) και τολμά να προβοκάρει τους ντεκαβλέ καλλιτεχνικούς
δημιουργούς του αυθεντικού κλαψομούνικου λυρικού Ελληνικού κινηματογράφου κάνοντας
την τραγωδία και την κλασσική ρωσική λογοτεχνία πιο…. Pornfriendly….
Today is the birthday of my beloved companion in the struggle,
some call, Life…One of her favorite artists is today’s suggestion as the
humblest (but not cheapest) of gifts. A way of remembering our hooks in this
life…so today we’ re dealing with Baudelaire of jazz rock, an artist so
distinctive, as yesterday’s lyrically mastermind, a bluesy improvising poet of
the west, a Berthold Brecht of rock n roll a man that Hollywood already found
the actor that would impersonate him (Ron Perlman)… a man that fraternized with
everything Avant garde of indie American
urban rock community of the 70’s and managed to release masterpieces throughout
his over 40 years spanning career. An artist hard to label (whoever can label
the genre this artist is serving, might as well announce it to the rest of the
world too!!) and even harder to ignore… his work is so big that we split up
today’s suggestion in two parts, thus covering 4 decades of jazzy bluesy poetic
rock music
It has a become a peculiar ethos for our suggestion on
Sundays to present something larger, even if «it» represents a band or a solo
artist, with only exception for this month Beyond Creation that surely can’t
match neither septicflesh’s fame nor Elvis… today (being widely influenced by
True Detective’s Season 2 opening theme-but the original Popular Problems album
version, with the arabesque and highly provocative to US audiences as it seems,
interlude) we deal with an artist that surely is either proclaimed by his fans,
or even self-defined, as rock, but with a wide perspective that doesn’t exclude
the folk of Dylan the same way that wasn’t excluded from the vast concept of
the Rock genre, pop oriented trend bands such as U2 or progressive fusionists
that later evolved to solo stardom as singers of love (e.g. Roxy Music & Bryan
Ferry).

σχέση!! Τούτο το παραλήρημα απευθύνεται προφανώς σε ειδικούς της ψυχικής υγείας
με ερωτήματα τύπου: «τον χάνουμε γιατρέ, ή να ξαναρχίσουμε να του ρίχνουμε
χαπάκια στον καφέ?». Και ήταν καιρός να ξαναπιάσουμε θεματικές που ουδείς
ενδιαφέρεται να διαβάσει… ξεκινώ λοιπόν χωρίς την προσμονή κάποιου την ύστατη στιγμή να με σταματήσει (για το καλό σας). Όταν σκέπτομαι τον Θεό, σκέπτομαι την σχέση μου με το
παιδί μου, πόσο στοργή με γεμίζει, πόση ανεξήγητη αγαλλίαση, πως δεν τρέχει κάστανο, ακόμα και μέσα την χειρότερη
μπόρα, μόνο γιατί υπάρχει αυτή η στοργή, αυτή η σιγουράδα της αγάπης… ίσως τελικά να
είναι η μοναδική παρηγοριά στην αβάσταχτη μοναξιά της, χωρίς προσδοκία για άλλα
μεγαλεία από την αναπνοή, τον ίδρο και τα χώματα, ύπαρξης…
