A 2015 Monthly Recap: March

2015’s Final Countdown continuing with March. There are no less suggestions from there until Easter. So 30 music suggestions will be parading on the playlist below. I’ll try to incorporate only the true great ones in order for us to remember what March sounded like, back in that day… And believe me the month was extra strong in that department, so my job isn’t exactly easy… This month except from ramblings, or «loans», had another steady column (Pseudo – Athinorama) to deal with…

We started March by suggesting a rather creepy but truly awesome King Diamond concert featuring the THEM/Conspiracy concept albums, only to move drastically to mainstream electronica through Depeche Mode’s Exciter Tour. Porcupine seemed the perfect vechicle to move on to new adventures of post-Floyd psychedelia. But no, Wilson’s project served as an ideal starting point to homage the greatest of progsters RUSH and unanimously acclaimed Led Zeppelin. As you see, it is difficult to single out tracks of the music mentioned on these posts… and it’s only 5/3!!
Some covers of March's posts

CCR took the torch and carried it through Dude’s Day, only to smoothly give it to Janis…Oh no, wait!!Before that, Faithless went along to party up the month and some lost bodies that seem they can’t remember anything…  Joplin messed up, as always, gave the torch to David Vincent and Pete Sandoval to twist it enough and pass it on to the easier sounds of…Moonspell!! The confusion was such that there were no questions raised about Bregovic taking over; or Rebelution either.
Reaching the middle of the month and Ghost B.C. were the 1st «newbie» band mentioned in Kokdi Mpath’s world. Portishead was the ideal soundtrack (Dummy to be specific) for the most sexist/sexy day of theyear (the 2nd one will be mentioned later on…).Queensryche’s best concept album since the wall and Pantera’s vulgar display of power paved the way for the 1st supergroup mentioned in this blog. Coverdale &Co. didn’t seem to bother anyone while passing through Bad Co.’s exquisite debut album but St. Anger seemed repetitive though replayed through other «artists» (not mentioned in playlist below). A 1st cover post right there!!

Post70’sPop through the genius of Therion made the 1st all successful post (by views) in Kokdi’s blog; till then it was…Police’s debut album came quite well as well, but Jamiro’s views proved that the audience perceives Rock only through distortion & amplifiers. RHCP shared their day with TOOL’s holy gift to the new week (not mentioned in playlist below) and QOTSA surely didn’t prepare someone to expect the suggestion followed. Is Rebetiko, Rock? If Blues music is considered an ancestor of Rock, then YES!!Rebetiko is surely the Blues music of Turks & Greeks; a cunning way to answer to one’s sorrows…
Dave Mustaine led the way to Slayer’s 30 Anniversary of Hell Awaits. Jestofunk reassured my faith on inspiring groovy music, while In The Woods last (?) Live wasn’t exactly the proper way to farewell the month; or to hail my best friend’s fav band in late 80’s, early 90’s, in his birthday…Did someone forgot the 31st?? Maybe last but still, one of the gigantic greats (?!) of this month coming softly to it's end...
So that must have been what March sounded like, in Kokdi’s world…
