We yesterday implied that PJ hardly wasn’t as iconic as
were Maiden or Mercyful Fate for 80’s metallic genre… If I had to cover this
subject I would surely nominate for this informal but prestigious title first
of all Tool (which notorious talent and metallic, artistic inclinations were barely
scratched in our 23/02/2015post), with Kyuss coming right after them for introducing
and imposing Stoner genre in mainstream alternative grunge genre, which
dominated Rock music @ early 90’s
Without wanting it though, I’m forced to pick today’s
suggestion as one of the legendary and quite influential of the 90’s… My
hesitation isn’t about the music possibilities or attitude, or even lifestyle,
lyrics or orchestration, trending or whatever… it’s about Cobain being labeled
as Rock Star as notorious as Jim Morrison!!

First of all, whoever don’t get
that this notion is sacrilegious, probably will never get it… instead, let me
say that he surely “touched” the Ian Curtis phenomenon (way more fitting and
less audacious notion). Secondarily as a true metalhead I prefer Lemmy’s attitude
and insisting personality as a genuine Rock and Roll lifestyle and way of life
rather than the depressing “live free, die young” hippy – like philosophy,
overpowered by hallucinogenics and manic depression…
Nevertheless Curt Cobain and Co, a.k.a. NIRVANA (ranking
#76 @My Top100List) did manage to still be considered as one of the greatest
grunge bands and surely amongst the top spawns of the 90’s in Rock Music…
