Since we took it upon this week’s choices to suggest
groups that pioneered in our music, today’s one, shouldn’t raise any questions
or wonder… Though musically poor (to the point that often noted as long haired
punks), the first 2 albums not only launched their careers, but trademarked the
term Black Metal, while creating sociologic havoc with the over exploitation of
pagan symbols that were branded as evil by the regressive Catholic church. This
exploitation often explains their fame and fortune. For us metalheads we know
it isn’t so… If there weren’t for Venom, there could be no way of ever hearing
bands such as Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, or Slayer and Destruction…
